Coffee & Kin
Description
Coffee & Kin is run by two sisters from Northumberland who married Aussie best friends. We sell compostable coffee capsules, freshly roasted coffee beans and loose-leaf tea bags on www.coffeeandkin.co.uk. We also sell our products locally in Northumberland.
Quality and flavour are really important to the Coffee & Kin team. We want to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy luxury coffee and tea at home at an affordable price. We’re also trying to do our bit for the environment by offering compostable capsules and biodegradable tea bags.
At the heart of Coffee & Kin is the desire to help those in need and give back to the community. 1p per pod and 10p per bag of coffee beans sold is reinvested back into our Coffee & Kin Foundation to support people in our coffee growing communities.
We’re a small family run business with a big heart and we want to put a smile on people’s faces through our tasty tea and coffee. Our mantra is BREW GOOD. DO GOOD. FEEL GOOD.
Coffee & Kin is all about people and their love of great coffee.
Coffee Beans
Our coffee beans are roasted in an amazing yurt on Holy Island. Our single-origin coffee is ethically sourced and comes from 100% speciality Arabica beans. We’ve chosen Arabica because it’s the best and tastes amazing. In a nutshell, you’re getting coffee that tastes amazing, smells delicious and makes you feel great. Once you’ve tried speciality coffee, you won’t want anything else.
One of our values is to be honest and ethical in everything that we do. We care about our coffee farmers and the communities in which they live and work. Every Coffee & Kin coffee can be traced back to ensure that each stage of the growing and sales process is fair as well as socially and environmentally sustainable.
We are committed to ethically sourcing our coffee from coffee growers that are independently certified and passionate about producing specialty coffee around the world. Our aim is to give our customers great tasting speciality coffee at an affordable price and we also want to ensure the farmer is getting a fair price too.
You can buy coffee directly from our website and you can also sign up to a monthly subscription to make sure you never run out of coffee again. We’re always changing the types of coffee we sell because one of the main joys about coffee is trying new flavours. One month you can try a delicious coffee from Peru, the next month it might be a smooth nutty coffee from Rwanda.
Coffee Pods
Although these are not made locally, they are brought to you by a small Northumberland business. If you have a Nespresso® machine at home, you might prefer to support a local business. Plus they taste amazing!
If you love fresh tasty coffee without any mess, coffee pods are the way forward. With one click of a button, you can have café style coffee in your kitchen every single day.
Our coffee is classed as speciality grade coffee. This basically means that extra care has been taken by the farmer and the roaster to ensure you get the best cup of coffee possible. Our pods are 100% compostable so you’re not only drinking delicious coffee; you’re also doing your bit for the environment too. Our coffee is also 100% traceable, so we know it’s been ethically sourced from small coffee farms worldwide – this is really important to us!
